Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Add rule conditions based on weekdays, either selectable by day from Monday to Sunday and/or if it’s the weekend or workday.

For example I have two food budgets, one for workdays and one for weekends. If I enter my usual payee and the day of the transaction is Tuesday I want it to use the workday budget. Same if I were to enter a Saturday transaction, it would use the weekend budget.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

The date condition has an option to select each week day individually and if you were to select days Monday to Friday it would shorten the text to workdays. Selecting Saturday and Sunday would shorten it to weekend.

Wahou, I just migrated from nYNAB to Actual. Crazy that schedules doesn't contain weekday/workday as an option for recurrent recurring transactions. Seems so basic. 😋

Same scenario, I would like to create a recurring schedule for daily food budget at work so going from Mo-Fr and exclude week-ends.

Feature requested and pushed via : https://github.com/actualbudget/actual/issues/1528 and https://github.com/actualbudget/actual/pull/1505 but this doesn't work in our case. It's more a "move" on weekdays than a "skip" weekdays feature.

@zotabee You can base schedules on weekdays. Use the add specific days option. Also, if your goal is to budget, then use budget tempalates not rules.

@youngcw Thanks but add specific days is only available when selecting "months". Seems more a hassle than creating a daily recurring transaction and manually deleting the ones created on Sat and Sun.

My goal is to create scheduled recurring transactions to automatize transactions creation as they are all scheduled/planned. Instead of creating them manually post-date. No bank sync here unfortunately.
