Additional Context

This problem is definitely tied to the new version 2025.5.0. We expierienced this issue on multiple devices.
On devices with the old version 2025.4.0 the login with passkeys works flawlessly.
Deleting passkeys, reinstalling apps, reseting devices didn't solve the issue.

Hello there,

Does this only happen for one specific site? Are you able to share a publicly accessible website where this is happening so that we can test it? So far I'm unable to reproduce this on iOS.

Hello,
thank you for the quick response. The problem mainly occurs when trying to login to the following app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.db.elba.app&hl=en
Unfortunately registering is only available through an invitational link.
I dont know whether this issue is also possible for iOS.
For me it seems to be the same issue as in #5321.

Hello,

I got a similar issue, with a react-native app that I'm developing, it was working for a couple of days and now when I try to add a passkey via bitwarden, I get the message "passkey not supported for this app"

I have downgraded to version 2025.4.0 (20100) and it is now working

Another user here...
@ToHaNWS Are you trying to login to another app on your Android device and use a passkey, stored in Bitwarden, for that?

I'm not sure if that info is up-to-date, but the Help Sites (https://bitwarden.com/help/storing-passkeys/#tab-android-3XutklkReT3Gw0l1qHhBem) state, that is only available on Android in a future release:

Image

@Krychaz Or is that info outdated?

Passkeys are available to use on Android - https://bitwarden.com/help/storing-passkeys/#using-passkeys-with-bitwarden

However they cannot be used with apps at this moment. @ToHaNWS As you are using app, you will nor able to login with Passkey at this moment

Thank you all for the replies.
@pamperer562580892423 : I also stumbled over this page, but i wasn't able to find da date when this was posted.
I used this funcitionality successfully in the past, so i assumed this was outdated.

@Krychaz : It was working perfectly fine with every version since 2024.10.0. Only with the latest update (2025.5.0) it seems to be broken.
Reverting to 2025.4.0. also temporaliy "fixes" this issue, but of course i was hoping for a more future proof solution.

That's BS. It used to work just fine. Recent updates broke something, and now every other app can't use passkeys, which almost entirely defeats the purpose of them

Let me guess, it's another whitelist? Just like before with newer browsers blocking passkey creation? And now most apps can't use them?

Same issue with Ubank, when trying to login with a passkey already saved in bitwarden (which worked before), and when creating a new passkey through Ubank and trying to save it in bitwarden.
