When logging in for the first time to a local instance, if you enter your password twice and hit enter then the demo mode is launched instead of the real service running.

I had this same issue. After setting the password, if you press enter in one of the inputs, the button that is triggered is the "Try Demo" not the "Ok" button. I had to set the password again and manually hit the OK button. I will work to solve this issue.
