Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Currently, Actual Budget allows users to create categories that encompass both monthly and non-monthly expenses. However, the application does not provide a clear distinction between funds allocated for the current month's expenses and those saved for future obligations within these categories.

Benefits:

  • Provides clearer visibility into how funds are allocated within each category.
  • Helps in planning and adjusting budgets more effectively.
  • Enhances the accuracy of financial tracking and reporting.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Implement a feature that enables users to view a breakdown of each category's balance, showing:

  • Current Month's Allocated Funds: Amount budgeted for the current month's expenses.
  • Future Allocations: Funds set aside for upcoming non-monthly expenses.
  • Total Balance: Combined total of current and future allocations.
