Honestly reading previous post it seems clear that the problem are related to cases where both dates are external to Gantt view data range (eh. Take a look to the picture posted by luksee)
Anyway: you suggest to open new issue?

Overlapping tasks are not correctly shown on gantt view. If task starts before gantt view data range or ends after gantt view data range (or both cases) it must be shown (as described inoriginal issue).

This issue has been fixed in 56eb5d3, please check with the next unstable build (should be ready for deployment in ~30min, also on the demo).
