When I click add attachments in the sidebar, I have to click again to add an attachment in the menu that shows up - I think that second click should not be necessary, when I add attachments in the sidebar, it should automatically show the system dialogue.

I like that kind of logic.
First click activates field, second click set value or upload attachment.
the due date field works the same way.
