Description

A little hard to describe, but when you install Vikunja as a PWA from Firefox on Android, you cannot reopen the app from the "recently opened apps" navigation menu. This is a very minor bug, and isn't present when the PWA is installed from Chrome on Android, so if you want to mark as "wontfix" it's perfectly understandable.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Open the demo site in Firefox on Android
  • Open the Firefox options menu and press "Install"
  • Open Vikunja from the newly created icon
  • Go to the home screen
  • Open a different app and use it for a little bit (30 seconds or more)
  • Press the home row button to show all recently used apps and see Vikunja from the PWA there
    • It may have just the logo and a black screen for the preview
  • Try open the app by tapping on it in this "Recently Used Apps" view and you will get a black screen
  • Press the home button
  • Press the "Recently Used Apps" button and swipe the PWA Vikunja away (I think this clears a cache or similar)
  • Reopen Vikunja from the installed app icon and it works again

This is a very minor issue, especially since this behavior doesn't happen with Chrome. I guess this is a Firefox specific issue, and the fix is outside the scope of Vikunja, but just in case there are other weird issues happening with the PWA I created this issue to let you know.

I'm using the PWA with Firefox as well, I don't have the problem you're describing. I think this is not something Vikunja can fix but rather a problem of either Firefox on Android or the Android build you're using.
