Describe the Bug

Hi,

for about 3-4 weeks now, I've been having a problem where incoming connections in Plex via Pangolin/Newt only show Newt's local LAN IP, not the public WAN IP of the accessing clients. Unfortunately, I don't know how to troubleshoot the problem further.

The only change I have made to my local network is that I have enabled IPv6. However, disabling it again did not help.

Downgrading Plex, Pangolin, Newt, and Traefik did not help either.

Environment

  • OS Type & Version: Debian 12
  • Pangolin Version: 1.12.2
  • Gerbil Version: 1.2.2
  • Traefik Version: 3.6.2
  • Newt Version: 1.6.0

To Reproduce

Start a external plex stream via a pangolin/newt connection and lookup the IP, e.g. with Tautulli.

Expected Behavior

Tautulli should show the WAN IP of the client, not the LAN-IP of newt.

I think I've found the cause: It happens when I set a AAAA-Record on my public domain, so I can access my VPS via IPv6. But how to fix this?
