Ironically I find setting up systemd service more difficult than setting up a wireguard tunnel on the client side.

Can I request a set up script when creating a new site to automate the deployment of Newt?

Me and chatGPT came up with my own version, pretty specific to my set up, as it only pulls the latest amd version.

Just a thought to help automate deployments of newt.

Hi!

I took a look at your script and it looks reasonable. How would you feel about expanding it a bit to detect the instance's arch using uname and pulling the right image? You could actually use the command that is already in the docs for that.

If you are interested you could open a PR to the newt repo and contribute this script and maybe some docs to the docs repo and readme. If necessary I can make any final updates to it once its in a PR if you are having any trouble.

I mean I'm happy to do all that with the understanding that github still confuses the crap out of me most days and I don't know if shell scripts work the same on all versions of operating systems that you make it available to. But yes I'll work on it and see where I get with it.

No worries! Its a great way to learn if you want to learn. If not do not worry about it!

We are happy to make any adjustments needed once you open your pr and help as needed as well. I would do it on the newt repo.

Bash is pretty universal amounts any linux distro that is running systemd and systemd is fairly standard. You have a good chance of it being universal.

The funny thing is all the scripts I've made were made out of necessity of me screwing things up over and over and having to reload everything from scratch!! 😂 By the 5th time I just figured out how to make a script to make it do what I want it to do.

All I'm saying is proxmox was a godsend of being able to mess with things and then just blast it out and start over.

I'll mess around with it here soon. I'm still trying to compile all the random scripts I have floating around on here, so I don't lose them all again when I reload something.
