istn it possible to just git pull over the existing version? but git does tell me there is no repository match.

Let me know what python version you have installed.

As per the docs open webui currently only supports python3.11 and python3.12(.0) nothing above due to a few remaining dependencies that aren't 3.13 compatible yet.

thx. i think what happened is i used pipx to install openwebui and somehow pipx vanished over time:

"Not upgrading open-webui. It has missing internal pipx metadata.
It was likely installed using a pipx version before 0.15.0.0.
Please uninstall and install this package to fix."

so what I will do:

remove open-webui pipx installation
reinstall using venv and git clone
