I have searched the existing issues and discussions.

Problem Description

Currently, there is no way to tell if a new message has arrived in a channel unless the user manually checks each one. This makes it easy to miss important updates, especially in team environments where channels like #support and #updates are critical for day-to-day communication.

Without visual or audio cues:

Users must frequently check each channel manually.
Important time-sensitive messages (e.g., alerts or requests) can go unnoticed.
Real-time collaboration is less effective, especially when multitasking.

Desired Solution you'd like

✅ Feature Request
We’d like to request a notification feature for channels, similar to Slack, that includes:

🔴 A red notification indicator (badge/dot) next to any channel name that has unread messages.
🔊 An optional sound notification when new messages are received in a followed or active channel.

This would help users stay aware of new messages without constantly switching views.

Why It’s Valuable

Improves response time to critical messages.
Makes channel monitoring more user-friendly and efficient.
Helps users prioritize attention across channels.
