Confirmation

  • I am using the latest version of both Open WebUI and Ollama.
  • I have included the browser console logs.
  • I have included the Docker container logs.
  • I have listed steps to reproduce the bug in detail.

Expected Behavior

open webui able to analyze uploaded picture when using ollama with gemma3:12b model or gemma3:27b model

Actual Behavior

open webui unable to analyze uploaded picture when using ollama with gemma3:12b model or gemma3:27b model

Steps to Reproduce

I can analyze uploaded picture when using "Page Assist" web browser plugin using ollama with gemma3:12b model or gemma3:27b model.

I have set up ollama API in open webui with my local ollama backend, but it seems like using open webui cannot handle uploaded picture. When I upload a picture, the chat is stuck and does not offer any response.

Also ollama.com show gemma3:12b model or gemma3:27b model support vision.
