Changelog Entry

Description

  • Fixed a 404 Not Found error in the browser console that occurred when scrolling through channel messages sent by webhooks. Refined ProfilePreview.svelte to conditionally skip the LinkPreview components and the background user status fetch when the message sender is a webhook (role === 'webhook').

Fixed

  • Background 404 API calls to /api/v1/users/{id}/info for webhook messages.
  • Clean console logs when scrolling through automated channel messages.

Additional Information

  • Webhooks do not exist as standard users in the system, so attempting to fetch their status/details via the standard user API is inappropriate. This fix ensures we only attempt status fetches for real users.

Manual Verification Performed

  1. Open a channel with webhook messages.
  2. Scroll through the messages.
  3. Observe: The browser console remains clean, and no "Error fetching user by ID" 404 errors appear for webhooks.
  4. Hover over a regular user's avatar.
  5. Verified: The profile preview and status correctly load as before.
  6. Hover over a webhook avatar.
  7. Verified: No failing background calls are triggered.
