Description

Fixed an issue where the embedding_batch_size setting was ignored for the default SentenceTransformers embedding engine, causing high memory usage due to the default batch size of 32 being used.

Fixed

  • Passed batch_size argument to embedding_function.encode in backend/open_webui/retrieval/utils.py.

Additional Information

  • Fixes #20053.
  • Verified with a reproduction script that mocks the dependencies and asserts the batch_size parameter is passed.
