Check Existing Issues

  • I have searched the existing issues and discussions.
  • I am using the latest version of Open WebUI.

Installation Method

Git Clone

Open WebUI Version

0.6.23

Ollama Version (if applicable)

No response

Operating System

Docker Image in Windows WSL 2.0

Browser (if applicable)

Chrome

Confirmation

  • I have read and followed all instructions in README.md.
  • I am using the latest version of both Open WebUI and Ollama.
  • I have included the browser console logs.
  • I have included the Docker container logs.
  • I have provided every relevant configuration, setting, and environment variable used in my setup.
  • I have clearly listed every relevant configuration, custom setting, environment variable, and command-line option that influences my setup (such as Docker Compose overrides, .env values, browser settings, authentication configurations, etc).
  • I have documented step-by-step reproduction instructions that are precise, sequential, and leave nothing to interpretation. My steps:
  • Start with the initial platform/version/OS and dependencies used,
  • Specify exact install/launch/configure commands,
  • List URLs visited, user input (incl. example values/emails/passwords if needed),
  • Describe all options and toggles enabled or changed,
  • Include any files or environmental changes,
  • Identify the expected and actual result at each stage,
  • Ensure any reasonably skilled user can follow and hit the same issue.

Expected Behavior

Tool list should be visible (popup) in the chat window on clicking the + icon.

Actual Behavior

Tools is not visible on the latest version of openWebUI image (0.6.23). Reverting back to 0.6.22 restores this feature.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Pull the openwebui 0.6.22 image.
  2. Start and register models and tools using the Admin settings
  3. Open the Chat window, choose a registered model.
  4. Click on the More icon "+" and enable the tool(s).
  5. Validate the above steps
  6. Update the image to 0.6.23
  7. Stop and update docker deploy to point to 0.6.23
  8. Open the chat window choose the same model and click on the More "+" icon.
  9. No tools are listed in the popup.

I am facing this issue too. Tools via mcpo-proxy disappeared from the model's list of available tools.

Note that the Web Search function was added through Workspace > Tools tab. The tools which were added through Admin Panel > Settings > Tools are the ones disappeared from view in my case.

My setup was deployed using Docker container. Currently on the latest version v0.6.23
