Check Existing Issues

  • I have searched for any existing and/or related issues.
  • I have searched for any existing and/or related discussions.
  • I have also searched in the CLOSED issues AND CLOSED discussions and found no related items (your issue might already be addressed on the development branch!).
  • I am using the latest version of Open WebUI.

Installation Method

Docker

Open WebUI Version

v0.8.10

Ollama Version (if applicable)

No response

Operating System

Ubuntu 24.04

Browser (if applicable)

No response

Confirmation

  • I have read and followed all instructions in README.md.
  • I am using the latest version of both Open WebUI and Ollama.
  • I have included the browser console logs.
  • I have included the Docker container logs.
  • I have provided every relevant configuration, setting, and environment variable used in my setup.
  • I have clearly listed every relevant configuration, custom setting, environment variable, and command-line option that influences my setup (such as Docker Compose overrides, .env values, browser settings, authentication configurations, etc).
  • I have documented step-by-step reproduction instructions that are precise, sequential, and leave nothing to interpretation. My steps:
  • Start with the initial platform/version/OS and dependencies used,
  • Specify exact install/launch/configure commands,
  • List URLs visited, user input (incl. example values/emails/passwords if needed),
  • Describe all options and toggles enabled or changed,
  • Include any files or environmental changes,
  • Identify the expected and actual result at each stage,
  • Ensure any reasonably skilled user can follow and hit the same issue.

Expected Behavior

When a user with appropriate permissions attempts to connect MCP integrations (Streamable HTTP) directly from their account (not via admin panel), the integration works. User can use this integration in chats.

Actual Behavior

The integration fails to function properly. When switching to Streamable HTTP type:

  1. The Advanced settings section cannot be expanded due to an overlapping banner.
  2. Upon performing a ping test, the system still sends requests to openapi.json instead of the expected Streamable HTTP endpoint.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in as a user with permissions to create integrations.
  2. Navigate to Menu → Settings → Integrations.
  3. Click Add Connection.
  4. Select Streamable HTTP as the integration type.
  5. Fill in the required connection details (e.g., endpoint URL, authentication tokens, etc.).
  6. Attempt to expand the Advanced settings section - it does not open due to an overlapping banner blocking the UI.
  7. Click Ping to test the connection - the system sends a request to openapi.json instead of the configured HTTP endpoint, resulting in an error.

Logs & Screenshots

I don't see any errors in logs.

Additional Information

The same MCP integration, when created via the admin panel, works correctly - indicating the issue is specific to user-facing configuration.

Is this behavior a bug, or is it intentional?

Intended behaviour, mcp should not have been visible from the user settings. Addressed in dev!
