Problem Description

Currently, there's no way to mark or save important information within chat conversations in Open WebUI. Often times I want to go back to a point in the chat where there was a useful piece of information, but I don't remember exactly where it is. This makes knowledge retention and retrieval inefficient, especially for users who have many conversations or use the platform for learning or research.

Desired Solution you'd like

  1. Add text highlighting functionality that allows users to select and highlight important parts of any message
  2. Automatic saving of these highlights to a user's profile/account
  3. A dedicated "Highlights" tab that displays all highlights in chronological order
  4. The ability to click on any highlight to jump back to its original conversation context
  5. Search functionality that allows users to search through their highlights

also consider being able to mark messages with a heart or star so you can easily find them in the message history or in this Highlights tab

Just wanted to gently bump this issue, hoping for an update if possible. I think it could really differentiate OWUI from other leading AI chat interfaces!
