Description

  • Fixed a redundant GET request to /api/v1/channels/{channel_id}/messages/{message_id}/data that occurred on every channel message render, leading to 404 errors (especially for temporary messages). Refined the trigger condition in Message.svelte to strictly check for message.data === true, which aligns with the backend's lazy-loading signal while preventing unnecessary fetches for already-populated or temporary data.

Fixed

  • Redundant 404 API calls and console errors when rendering channel messages.
  • Fixed 404 errors specifically for newly sent messages with temporary IDs.

Additional Information

Manual Verification Performed

  1. Start Open WebUI.
  2. Navigate to a Channel or DM.
  3. Open the browser console.
  4. Send a message.
  5. Observed: The message renders immediately, and NO 404 Error appeared for the /data endpoint (as data is an object, not true).
  6. Load a message that expects lazy loading (backend sends data: true).
  7. Verified: The full data is correctly fetched and rendered via the /data endpoint.
