Check Existing Issues

  • I have searched the existing issues and discussions.
  • I am using the latest version of Open WebUI.

Installation Method

Git Clone

Open WebUI Version

v0.6.5

Ollama Version (if applicable)

0.6.5

Operating System

Debian 12

Browser (if applicable)

Firefox 128.0esr

Confirmation

  • I have read and followed all instructions in README.md.
  • I am using the latest version of both Open WebUI and Ollama.
  • I have included the browser console logs.
  • I have included the Docker container logs.
  • I have listed steps to reproduce the bug in detail.

Expected Behavior

When I navigate on the web browser on Settings -- WebUI Settings, I have a pull down options of 4 themes (System, Dark, OLED Dark , light and her) - when I chose any of this theme and press on button Save - I expect the background of the chat to change according to the theme.

Actual Behavior

When CHOOSING any THEME (e.g. OLED Dark) the whole background on the chat will change dark (black) and the text is light white. None of the theme seems to change anything when chosen.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Once OpenWEbui runs, open a web browser
  2. Login with username and password
  3. on the upper right corner where the user icon is - there is option for SETTING
  4. WEBUI Settings - Themes - for themes we have 4 5 THemes (System, Dark, OLED Dark, Light, her) -
  5. Choose one theme (e.g. OLED Dark)
  6. Click on SAVE Button
(on first click there is a message that "Settings were saved succesfully" However THE THEME does NOT CHANG. If I click once more on the SAVE button - it tells me " Invalid JSON Schema"

Additional Information

I tried both Open Webui 6.2 and 0.6.5, I think the theme got broken somewhere along version 5.
I do not know how to enable more detail logs - also, I did not find any manual details pertinent to Themes (how are they fitting in the architecture etc).
I run debian 12 - no docker (so no docker logs)
