Installation Method

Docker

Environment

  • Open WebUI Version: latest
  • Browser (if applicable): Brave latest

Confirmation:

  • I have read and followed all the instructions provided in the README.md.
  • I am on the latest version of both Open WebUI and Ollama.
  • I have included the browser console logs.
  • I have included the Docker container logs.
  • I have provided the exact steps to reproduce the bug in the "Steps to Reproduce" section below.

Expected Behavior:

Chatty chat and after that, chat is nicely named.

Actual Behavior:

Chatty chat and after that, chat title is the first message, no matter what it contains.

Description

Bug Summary:

  • don't remember if it first started on 0.5.7, right before upgrade, but my hunch would be after upgrade to 0.5.9. 0.5.10 same behavior.
  • the task model is prompted, inference happens, just it seems (my) OWUI does not use it
  • tried different models, "current model" as task models; tried different users - always the same issue

  • title auto generation on
  • new chat
  • the first message gets used
