Changelog Entry

Description

Gboard's clipboard suggestion strip (the bar above the keyboard on Android) sends multi-line pastes as beforeinput events with inputType: 'insertText' instead of firing a standard paste event. This means the existing paste handlers are completely bypassed, and ProseMirror's default beforeinput handling drops the text content, only inserting a newline.

This adds a beforeinput handler in handleDOMEvents that intercepts multi-line insertText events on Android and manually inserts the text with hard breaks, preserving the formatting. Single-line input and desktop behavior are unaffected.

Additional Information

Tested on Android (Chrome PWA) with Gboard. Multi-line paste works correctly in both rich text and plain text modes. Long-press paste (which bypasses Gboard and fires a standard paste event) continues to work as before.
