What is the issue?

MacOS 26.0.1 (25A362), MacBook pro 4

Ollama-Icon shows a pending update. When initiating the update by choosing "restart to update," the user is asked to fill in the credentials of an Administrator. The actual user has no administrative rights. Then the chat shows up, and nothing happens. Tried to delete and reinstall without any effect. Tried to reinstall with the Administrator’s account without effect.

same issue, same version, same specs like TO. What works is to redownload from ollama.com and install

same issue
I downloaded and reinstalled it from ollama.com, doesn’t work.
Installing an older version and then reinstall the latest version, doesn’t work either.
Installing an older version and clicking update also doesn’t work.

Mac mini M4 Sequoia 15.5
ollama version 0.19.0

i found this selution https://github.com/ollama/ollama/issues/11972#issuecomment-3926471828

  1. quit ollama
  2. delete ~/Library/Caches/ollama/updates folder
  3. close Auto-download updates button at ollama settings
  4. open ollama
