Currently the Ollama UI does not support MCP / tool calling. Since it is a desktop app it makes sense to provide access to tool calling.

Currently the Ollama UI does not support MCP / tool calling. Since it is a desktop app it makes sense to provide access to tool calling.

This would be great. In the interim I'm using Ollama in conjunction with Goose and it's working out great.

Would be a game changer to declare Tools or MCP to Ollama in order to let Ollama Desktop UI or ThirdParty Clients UI to talk Ollama server with custom Tools or MCP.

For instance, Asking Ollama to simply send an HTTP Reqest ... using our Tool.
The modfile do not allow that :-(
