Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/ollama/ollama/issues/14334

Context

Ollama enables running LLMs locally, which is excellent for data privacy. However, when deploying Ollama in production for sensitive use cases (content filtering, automated decision-making), EU AI Act compliance becomes relevant.

Proposed Addition

  1. Deployment Risk Assessment: Guide to determine if your use case requires compliance checks

    • Interactive decision tree: Is this high-risk? (recruitment, law enforcement, etc.)
    • Links to EU AI Act definitions
  2. Audit & Monitoring: Best practices for deployments requiring compliance

    • Input/output logging recommendations
    • Model version tracking
    • Performance monitoring across demographics

Example Use Case

A small company deploying Ollama for customer support should understand:

  • When to use it safely
  • When compliance checks are needed
