Description

I would like to request the development of a Qt QML client for Ollama. This client would provide a cross-platform, user-friendly graphical interface to interact with Ollama's API and manage local AI models. Qt QML is an excellent choice for creating visually appealing and highly responsive user interfaces, making it ideal for building such a client.

Key Features Requested

  1. Integration with Ollama API:

    • Connect to Ollama’s API for managing models, querying, and retrieving results.
  2. Cross-Platform Support:

    • Develop the client to run seamlessly on major platforms, including Linux, Windows, and macOS.
  3. Interactive UI:

    • Display real-time interaction with AI models, including chat-style interfaces or visualization of model outputs.
  4. Model Management:

    • Allow users to manage, run, and query locally hosted AI models.
  5. Customizable Settings:

    • Provide users with options to adjust settings such as model preferences, API keys, and performance configurations.

Why Qt QML?

Qt QML is a modern, declarative framework ideal for creating dynamic and fluid UIs. It allows developers to build high-performance applications with responsive designs, making it an excellent choice for an Ollama client. Additionally, Qt's cross-platform nature would ensure the tool is accessible to a wide audience.

Benefits of This Feature

  • Improved Accessibility: A graphical client will make it easier for non-technical users to interact with Ollama.
  • Enhanced Productivity: Developers can benefit from an intuitive interface for managing models without relying on CLI.
  • Cross-Platform Reach: A Qt-based client can cater to users across Linux, Windows, and macOS platforms.

Additional Context

I am a developer with experience in Qt and QML, and I am willing to contribute to this project. If the maintainers approve this request, I can provide initial implementations or collaborate on the development process.

You don't need approval to write a client. Write it, or create/join a team to write it, make it available to the public, then submit a PR to add it to the integrations page.
