Clicking the "restart to update Ollama" option to get a new version of the Ollama app did not close and update the desktop Mac app. Looking in the server logs there are no errors or information displayed.

Ollama is still responsive, and using the CLI still works.

  • This behaviour was observed after sleeping the computer. Not sure if this was a factor.

Workaround:

  • Exiting and re-opening the toolbar app updates successfully.
