What is the issue?
I use Proxmox VE for virtualization. If I install ollama in a Linux VM it works fine. If I install Ollama in a LXC (Host Kernel 6.8.4-3) it don't works with CPU.

For LXC with Ollama and Nvidia GPU it works but not for CPU.
It make no difference to install it nativ (curl -fsSL https://ollama.com/install.sh | sh ) or use docker. I have no idea what the problem is maybe an Kernel Issue.

The combination LXC + Docker or LXC only without docker leads to very very slow reactions even with the test model tinyllama:latest. Same config in VM with or without docker is much faster with CPU. I think to use ollama inside LXC is very important to overcome the GPU RAM limits for big size LLM's and provide CPU's in a over provision scenario. Also with actual version ollama:0.3.0

For anyone interested, I've added an Ollama LXC script to tteck's Proxmox Helper-Scripts. The script installs intel-basekit and builds Ollama from source and supports Intel iGPU passthrough (though it has a very long install time). It can be run like any other proxmox helper script:

Dear @dhiltgen I tested today 0.4.0rc8 in a LXC with 8 cores and the tiny model. It was unusable all 8 cores on 100% but it was slow without output. I the VM with 8 core it was fast. This is way beyond some dual socket NUMA stuff problem.

Looking at the logs for
Ollama docker container inside the LXC, we seem to be getting the default thread count wrong.--threads 256is going to lead to thrashing if you only have 32 cores total across 2 sockets.The

Dear @dhiltgen , any news to fix this bug?
I tested it last week with Proxmox 8.4 and Ollama 6.5. I run tinyllama for testing and it load fast but doesn't give a result but the CPU load was on 100%. It's frustrating.
