Okay, it's been a bit and as someone who has been actually using the beta/dev( #889 ) version for a while now, I feel like it's time for some feedback

I, personally, dislike the new UI, choice, why? there are reasons:

  1. It doesn't fit on the display(For reference it's a 1440x900)
    image

I don't feel like that is adequate spacing, the sidebar items don't properly fit without having to scroll down

  2. The UI is simply too big
    image

The diff of changes made to a resource gets cutoff, and sometimes, when the changes are way too much, it even goes below the visible page, making it impossible to apply the changes

  1. The drop-down isn't intuitive in settings, you don't even notice it at first, previous versions had a clearer tab navigation, and if the items overflow, you can always make them be dynamically sized, or, make it a carousel, with a hint that there are more items in the tab carousel available if the user scrolls or clicks the hint arrow
    • While I can see how the drop-down works on mobile, on PC, it doesn't work, it's not even prominent enough to notice among the sea of gray that he UI has become
    • For the drop-down to work, the UI has to be compact, i.e. mobile, on PC, the UI is sparse, it has space, and a drop-down looks awkward, no, really:

What is all this wasted space??

I do hope this feedback doesn't go unnoticed, best of luck and cheers

Additional consideration for the settings drop-down is to make it tabbed, like before, but with an additional item at the end, that will be a drop-down of the items that didn't fit on the page/screen, or hidden entirely if all items can be displayed at once, so:

# Insufficient space, some items displayed:
| Variables | Tags | Builders | Alerters | ... |
# Here, the "..." serves as the drop-down marker
# Since "Providers", "Users" and "Onboarding" tabs didn't fit on the display, they are overflowed into the drop-down

# Sufficient space, all items shown(wide screen?):
| Variables | Tags | Builders | Alerters | Providers | Users | Onboarding |
# This is self-explanatory, I believe

# Insufficient space, mobile/small browser window:
| Variables v |
# Just the drop-down, likely with an arrow, like the current behavior

some

I like the humility, but i had just checked, all three were addressed(excluding suggestion in https://github.com/moghtech/komodo/issues/1237#issuecomment-4039351184, but i understand if it's too hard to implement, it's fine honestly)

And I'm grateful beyond possibility, but:
Image

Thick scrollbar now, it's funny and isn't a big gripe, but, something to look into

Again, thank you so much mbecker, I wish you the best
