SocratiQ with tinyML: User Guide
Welcome to the SocratiQ with tinyML widget! This interactive tool is specifically designed to enhance your learning experience with the TinyML textbook by providing a direct interaction platform with an AI assistant. This guide provides detailed instructions on how to navigate and utilize the various features of this widget.
Getting Started
Accessing the Widget
The widget should automatically appear on the right side of your screen when visiting the designated webpage. If not visible, look for a blue toggle button on the right edge of your screen and click it to open the widget.
Understanding the Interface
At the top of the slide-out menu, you will see the title "SocratiQ with tinyML."
Below the title are several buttons for different functionalities:
- Help Button: Hover over or click this button to get help related to any questions you may have.
- Chat History Button: Allows you to view previous interactions with the AI.
- Settings Button: Adjust settings to tailor the interaction according to your preferences.
Interacting with the AI
Sending Messages
Use the text input field at the bottom of the widget. Type your question or comment and press the enter icon (arrow) or hit the "enter" key on your keyboard to send your message.
Viewing Responses
The AI's responses will appear directly above your message. You can scroll through the conversation within the widget.
Local Chat Storage
All your chats are saved locally on your device. This allows you to review past interactions without needing an internet connection once the chats are loaded. The chat history is accessible through the Chat History Button.
Utilizing Tools and Resources
Reference Buttons
Quick links and references related to TinyML are provided for easy access.
Share, Copy, Download Buttons
These are located next to each AI response. Use them to:
- Share information easily with peers or on social media.
- Copy text to your clipboard for use in other documents.
- Download content directly to your device.
Interactive Buttons
Various buttons like "Mindfulness Break," "Examples," "Research," etc., are present for interactive learning. Click any of these to initiate specific actions or get related information.
Settings and Customizations
Adjust Understanding Level
Use the slider in the settings menu to set the complexity of the AI’s responses from basic to advanced.
Choose an LLM (Large Language Model)
Select from different models to change the backend AI processing your questions.
Display Options
You can choose to show answers or the AI's chain of thought by checking the respective boxes in the settings menu.
Feedback and Error Reporting
If you encounter any issues or have feedback, use the "Provide feedback" link to report your experiences or suggestions.
Closing the Widget
To close the widget, click the blue toggle button again. It will slide back, minimizing to the side of your screen.

- Always ensure your internet connection is stable for seamless interactions.
