Failed to execute command “tito module complete 05”.
Additionally, how can I update TinyTorch without rerunning “curl -sSL mlsysbook.ai/tinytorch/install.sh | bash”? Can I use the command “tito update” to update it?
@profvjreddi commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2026):
Thanks @wz1114841863 for letting me know! I will check what's going on here... I might have broken this during a recent update, despite my testing practices.

Hi, I understand that the issue has been closed, but as I am still facing the same issue as @wz1114841863, was wondering what I could do to complete the fifth module in the course?
@profvjreddi commented on GitHub (Jan 21, 2026):
Hi @ngbolin -- I closed it, but I actually haven't published a new release with the bug fix. That's why you're having that issue.
How about I release it this evening after I finish some work? Check tomorrow?
@ngbolin commented on GitHub (Jan 21, 2026):
Hi @profvjreddi -- thank you so much for the prompt response! Thanks for taking the time to fix this bug!
Sure, I'll check on it later tomorrow 😄
@profvjreddi commented on GitHub (Jan 22, 2026):
Hey @ngbolin @wz1114841863 - v0.1.4 is now released with the fix for this!
To update, try:
If that doesn't work, re-run the install script:
The Module 05 dataloader tests should pass now. Let me know if you hit any other issues!
@wz1114841863 - you've been added to the TinyTorch Contributors list for helping find these bugs. It's a small start, but I'm hoping folks who help test and improve TinyTorch will eventually teach this material and help spread the learning to others. Thanks! 🙏
@ngbolin commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2026):
Hi @profvjreddi, tested and confirmed that the fix works; I'm on module 06 now. Thanks for this 😃
@profvjreddi commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2026):
Awesome! Thanks @ngbolin and keep me posted as issues come up! 🧪
