bug description
I've never had an issue like this not have a simple fix before today. Every time I paste a link it will begin the process to download and then the que will show that a message that says "file tunnel is empty, try again.". The same thing will happen when you try to download it again. This issue persists no matter what link is posted off of YouTube. I'm only trying to download MP3 files and have never had an issue like this before. Any help is appreciated.

additional context
I have tried every kind of video to see if it was just a specific kind of video that was refusing to download and every single link will give me this error message. I have no idea what could be wrong with the website, the only knowledge I have is that cobalt recently did an update. I'm not knowledgeable with how the website works past the settings and somewhat regular usage of the website, other than that I'm good and lost. Any input will be greatly appreciated

Just to add some more info for consideration, I tried disabling local processing. In that case there is no error message, but the file downloaded will be zero bytes.

only youtube was affected, as usual. it’s fixed, try again!
and for future reference: you can’t fix the empty tunnel issue by changing settings, it’s caused by youtube blocking our servers, not anything from your side. if anything, local processing gives you a proper error!

this issue is starting to happen again lol

fixed again

broken again
@moonwatcher99 commented on GitHub (Jun 8, 2025):
I'm guessing Youtube is getting wise to Cobalt's servers? Is this something that will eventually just be unfixable, or should we just start dropping a note whenever it pops up. The quick responses are appreciated, though, gotta give credit.
@wukko commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2025):
it’s fixed automatically within 5-6 minutes, there’s no need to say this every time it happens. being patient helps, just like what cobalt says.
