I just have a simple question. Do you ever plan to deprecate better-auth. I don't want to get scamed like Lucia-auth. I will just have to migrate again if you do

The way you expressed your thoughts is pretty rough, raw and rude.

But focusing just on the concept, yes it's totally understandable that people don't want to waste time with a library that will loose support from their mantainers.

Anyway just a quick note and my 2 cents on this topic:
Keep in mind that this library and the code is open-source, released under the MIT license so you can do literally whatever you want with it. So it's suggested to contribute back to open source projects in the form each one is capable of, like opening and reporting issues, answering to people doubts, create guides/tutorials/videos and help other people. That is the main reason why open-source is still a thing in 2025.

That being said, if you feel "scammed" by a library being deprecated tell me: how much did you paid for lucia-auth to feel scammed? Basically you are ignoring the fact that lucia-auth was an open-source project and people were working and giving all of that for free. What does it mean "open-source" for you?
In any case I strongly suggest you to not try to roll out your own auth system and go with an external maintained and paid one (but even with companies you pay you really don't know if their solution will last forever).

Maybe, and I say maybe, if you had just asked it in a better-way™ I would have avoided this rant. lol
