To Reproduce

  1. create a sample better auth backend and frontend using node postgres Pool as database
  2. Start the server (I'm using hono)
  3. Do a signin with google after setting the necessary code in backend and frontend

Current vs. Expected behavior

On signin with google this error is shown:
ERROR [Better Auth]: Error Error: getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND localhost

SERVER_ERROR: Error: getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND localhost

looks like this is a dns resolution issue, if I'm using the ip instead of localhost this error is not seen, still the code breaks at oauth redirection.

I've tried the code using differnt versions of better auth, nodejs, bun, neon postgres, local postgres etc.

The code was working correctly initially and all of a sudden this happened.

The node postgres and kysley are providing results when tested independently.

Since the issue occurs during OAuth redirection, double-check that your OAuth provider’s redirect URI matches the new configuration if you make the change.
