Hi, I've subscribed to the RSS feed of the Website. I haven't clicked/checked on all of the links/articles coming back from the feed, but every one of them that I have clicked open to a 404 page.

For example, right now, I saw perkins, tuios, pomo (and others) where they go to these links:

And all are 404. Was wondering if that's expected, and whether they're supposed to be "live" only after a while?

Thank you

@farzadmf I did some research into this and this is not an official site of awesome-tuis by @rothgar

It looks like a domain squatter and a crypto scammer trying to launch crypto coins out of popular projects on GitHub.

@gwilkinsong wait, what???!!! 🤯 ... but this Website is in the username page, and when I click the Github icon on https://awesometui.com/, it opens this repo.

You mean https://awesometui.com/ is also fake?

Yes. This is not an official site of awesome-tuis by @rothgar

when I click the Github icon on awesometui.com, it opens this repo.

@farzadmf That doesn't mean that @rothgar made it.

I do not see see any information of awesometui.com being officially controlled by @rothgar, so I assume it is a domain squatter / scammer and from some research, it seems this website is affiliated with a crypto scammer.

Until I see official confirmation from @rothgar that he controls awesometui.com, I would instead use https://github.com/rothgar/awesome-tuis

This is not an official site

Wow, BIG TIL for me! Still I'm like 🤯

I would instead use rothgar/awesome-tuis

Ah, so you mean "watching" the repo instead of the Website?

And ... I'm genuinely super curious: what is the domain squatter/scammer getting out of this? Seems like that Website is just listing some tools and providing RSS ... unless ... I guess they "inject" malicious tools or something 🤔

Although I must say ... their trick won't work (at least for RSS posts) since they're always returning a 404 for any new tool they add 😆
