About LocoPilot

  • Why is it awesome? It's the only local-first, privacy-preserving browser/desktop automation API that uses vision guidance from local LLMs. No cloud dependency, no API keys required, data never leaves the machine. Fills a gap between cloud-based automation platforms (BrowserBase, Automa) and raw Playwright scripts.
  • Have you used it? Yes, for 2+ months in professional settings.
  • Personal or professional? Professional — automating compliance document processing and web workflows for construction industry subcontractor management.
  • How many devices/users/services? Used across 3 workstations for automating COI document verification, web scraping, and repetitive admin tasks.
  • Biggest pros? Zero cloud dependency, vision-guided (adapts to UI changes without selector updates), local LLM integration for autonomous agent loops.
  • Biggest cons? Requires a local LLM runtime (Ollama/LM Studio); initial setup is slightly more involved than a cloud tool.
  • Other comments? If the maintainers feel Automation is too build-focused for this entry, Miscellaneous would also be appropriate.
