I don't see any better place to add pfSense other then router, since their is no real Firewall section, however this is for sure a software that should be in this list.
I also changes the * to - to make it consistent.
This resolves issue https://github.com/awesome-foss/awesome-sysadmin/issues/447

It is my leading hardware firewall/router behind, which runs multiple NAS Systems, Clients and raspberry pi.

Lots of issues with fresh configurations (especially when other colleagues try it)
Lacks a CLI for scripting and automation
Initial releases often cause problems with (breaks functionality unintended)
