What is this Python project?

A more advanced regular expression engine.

What's the difference between this Python project and similar ones?

Besides fully compatible with re in standard library, the new regular expression engine adds many more regular expression features previously only supported by implementations of other languages.

Anyone who agrees with this pull request could vote for it by adding a 👍 to it, and usually, the maintainer will merge it when votes reach 20.
