It seems to me that the dataset "Marine Traffic - ship tracks, port calls and more" (category Transportation) is not in the public domain. Instead, the use of the API requires you to buy some "Credits" ; it is quite expensive...

I agree. It was added by @redaktor almost 3 years ago. I'm not sure if it was ever free, but it definitely isn't now. Also, it's an API, not a dataset.
