What changed

A ground-up rebuild of the README as a landing page optimized for the 10-second first impression.

  • Branded cover gallery: six custom 16:9 covers in one design system (dark ground, one accent color per app, pipeline-of-artifacts illustration), each linking to its project: Project Graveyard, Insurance Claim Live Agent Team, AI Fraud Investigation Agent, Self-Improving Agent Skills, AI Home Renovation Agent, Always-on HN Briefing Agent. Normalized 1280x720 PNGs live in docs/gallery/.
  • Tighter hero: title, tagline, model-agnostic line, three nav links, and the Trendshift #1 badge as the proof point directly above the gallery.
  • Skills-first quick start: npx skills add in 10 seconds, then clone-and-run in 30.
  • Full index kept, upgraded: all 15 categories remain as plain headed lists, and Agent Skills, Starter, Advanced, Multi-agent Teams, Voice, and Optimization entries now carry one-line hooks sourced from each project's own README.
  • Cut: badge wall, table of contents, Why-this-exists section, Featured-this-month table (was redundant with the gallery), star history chart, contrib.rocks grid, duplicate star/newsletter CTAs.
  • Footer: single star CTA, translations compacted to one row (readme-i18n links preserved), license line.

Why

The old README was 335 lines of links and self-description with zero visual proof of what the repo contains. The new one shows the product first: six covers that demonstrate range (skill, voice, vision, always-on, investigator, meta), then gets the visitor running something in two copy-paste blocks, then offers the full catalog.

Notes for review

  • All 118 relative links and image paths verified to resolve; both hero anchors match their headings.
  • docs/gallery/ adds ~1.9 MB of PNGs (six tiles at ~320 KB each).
  • The translations comment block ("Keep these links") is preserved verbatim in the footer.
