Exercise caution with Jellywatch.
It quickly gained a poor reputation, with the developer repeatedly banned from major Reddit communities for spam and unethical marketing.
The launch was misleading, initially appearing free before being heavily restricted within days. Users were reportedly targeted via private messages with promised licenses in exchange for promoting the software.

Hello, we can be reached by email or on our Discord server. I don't understand why you're spreading this bad reputation around us. We did the same application for Emby, and they even wrote an article about us on the official blog...
We have over 3k downloads on Google Play and many positive reviews. You can also join our Discord server to connect with other users and get their perspective ;)

Let me clarify a few things and address what you describe as accusations,
A few days after Jellywatch appeared, several of us contacted you on Reddit and Discord after receiving reports that you were offering licenses in exchange for positive reviews on Reddit and Google Play through in-app popups and banners.
At the same time, your account, together with a wave of newly created ones with no prior activity, began flooding the JellyfinCommunity subreddit with promotional posts and comments. You were warned multiple times, but there was no response whatsoever. After those warnings were ignored, a temporary ban was issued. When you returned and repeated the same behavior, a permanent ban followed.
In parallel, and to protect the community, we raised what I consider reasonable questions about your app. These included the absence of a privacy policy, unusual obfuscation, repeated spamming, ongoing edits and clear attempts to obscure the developer’s identity on Google Play, lack of documentation, and unclear licensing.
When all contact attempts through Reddit failed, we reached out again on Discord after obtaining the server address from a user report. There, we found that you were banning the users who asked questions without any explanation. Rather than addressing these concerns, you chose to ban anyone who contacted you about them on your Discord server, which only deepened concerns about transparency and intent.
This pattern reflects poorly not only on you but also on the broader Jellyfin community, which expects openness, accountability, and honest communication rather than confusion, distrust, and, in the worst case, malicious intent.

Great, but everything is going well on our end. The app is controlled and validated by Google, and it's growing every day with new users who are very satisfied (see Google Play reviews: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jellywatch.app). The app also supports development through its premium subscription. If it doesn't suit you or scares you, don't use it!

Great, but everything is going well on our end. The app is controlled and validated by Google, and it's growing every day with new users who are very satisfied (see Google Play reviews: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jellywatch.app). @JellyWatchteam you haven't provided proof that you haven't banned anyone? You also say Google has validated your app.. but there are many apps that pass initial validation that end up being dodgy. I.e selling user data etc behind the scene which Google can't validate either.
You have empty repos with just readme's this seems a bit dodgy too, why have that if you have the play Store listing, that you keep going back to? You have made an app to help the community, but you need to show the community some transparency too. Everyone is privacy focused in the end.
Show us the mod mail response you sent showing this proof if you have so on Reddit, it's all about defending yourself from the accusations and bringing trust back to you

You have empty repos with just readme's this seems a bit dodgy too, why have that if you have the play Store listing, that you keep going back to? You have made an app to help the community, but you need to show the community some transparency too. Everyone is privacy focused in the end.
Show us the mod mail response you sent showing this proof if you have so on Reddit, it's all about defending yourself from the accusations and bringing trust back to you
