Steps To Reproduce

  1. Wait a long time for bitwarden to lock
  2. Go to login page on brave
  3. Click bitwarden symbol on keyboard
  4. Unlock bitwarden
  5. Click on entry to autofill
  6. Will not fill the webpage
  7. Reload page
  8. Still won't fill the login
  9. Close the tab
  10. Reopen the tab
  11. It will now properly fill

Expected Result

Auto fill should work the first time

Actual Result

Autofill does not work until you close and reopen the page (refresh does not fix)

  1. On Brave (--> brave://flags), did you enable the following flag: #autofill-update-context-for-web-contents ?

  2. Do you have one or two innocuous example sites to try to reproduce this with? (on the sites I use, I can't reproduce it...)

Its hard to remember which sites do it.

Iirc the community bitwarden site does it.

Might also require battery setting for bitwarden to be on optimized. (I just changed that setting and havent seen the bug again yet...but it also seems very random)

Try to enable it, as there still seems to be a bug with Brave and Chrome on this, when that flag is disabled.

Its hard to remember which sites do it.

Iirc the community bitwarden site does it.

That is the main site I use - and it always fills after the first unlocking for me.

I attempted to reproduce your issue and was unable to do so on multiple sites. Would you please perform a clean reinstallation of the Bitwarden app using the steps below:

  • Uninstall the Bitwarden client
  • Restart the device (perform a full power cycle, shutting the device down completely and then restarting it)
  • Reinstall Bitwarden from the download link below
