Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to TOTP Verification codes from my vault
  2. Click on 🔍Search icon on the top
  3. Search for any website

Expected Result

I expect similar page to the TOTP page but to display TOTP for the searched website / URL

Actual Result

Displays search like on the login page which means I've to perform two extra clicks to get to the TOTP or to copy one.

Additional Context

Mostly this feature is used when I'm logging into some other computer where BitWarden is not installed or when TOTP autofill doesn't work. The TOTP screen is really good in that way and expectation is that search is also returning results similar to the normal page.

It is the repo for "Android" - password manager and authenticator app.

And you chose the tag for the authenticator app.

@rmcdowell-bitwarden Could you please at least re-consider this assessment? - Because I think there are reasonable arguments to also see this as an UI/UX "bug" - or at least inconsistency...

Because when you enter the dedicated TOTP codes view:

Then you see a list of your TOTP codes with TOTP code preview:

And when you enter the "Search" on that screen, it does say "Search Verification Codes":

So, from a UI/UX consistency perspective, it is indeed "unexpected" and unfortunate, to not get TOTP codes preview when you search in the TOTP codes section for a TOTP code - like in this example:

... while the search results indeed should look more like the initial TOTP codes view - if only for a consistent UI/UX:

PS: Sorry for the too-large screenshots... No time right now to fix this - and I have to figure out how to control that more...

This appears to work properly on iOS, Bitwarden 2025.12.0. So presumably an Android-only issue.

Please reconsider this as a bug report in that iOS and Android should behave the same.
