Same bug with Huawei P30 Pro with Android 10.

Reinstall and deleting data / cache not fixing it.

Just wondering how come this version is pushed to Play Store when it is not even available here on GitHub Releases?

@XxAcielxX , this has happened before with this or other stores, although AFAIK, it has never been explained. Most likely, you'll soon see a Github release.

I have the same concern. Bitwarden site is showing 2025.6.1 in the footer as well.

Same issue on Android 10 with Samsung Galaxy models.

Hello everyone,

Thank you, @XxAcielxX, for reporting this. Could everyone that is encountering this please confirm the following details?

  1. The make and model of the Android device in question.
  2. The exact version of Android that it is running.
  3. The language that the operating system and/or Bitwarden are set to.
  4. Does uninstalling Bitwarden, turning the phone off (long press) and back on, and installing Bitwarden anew via the Google Play Store assist?
  5. Is anyone running a custom ROM or a non-stock Launcher? If so, please expand on that.

Thank you in advance,

Just to add to this Android bug report, this version (2025.6.0) is also problematic on iOS—it's impossible to view your entries in the password manager. Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn't help.

Device: iPhone 8
OS: iOS 16.7.11

Adding my $.02:

  1. Moto G7 Plus (I know, it's old, but it's not my primary phone.)
  2. 10 (It's not showing any sub-versions, but the build number is QPWS30.61-21-18-7-12.)
  3. English (US)
  4. Nope, still crashes a second after startup.

The Moto has Bitwarden 2025.6.0. My Galaxy A15 5G is running Bitwarden 2025.5.0 which still works so I'm not risking updating to 2025.6.

Just wanted to chime in on this as well. The app has been working great up until today.

  1. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 - SM-N960U
  2. Android 10, Kernel Version: 4.9.186-22990573, Build number QP1A.1 90711.020.N960USQU9FVG2
  3. English (US)
  4. Nope.

My troubleshooting steps initially were not to be destructive..

  • Force stop the app then attempt re-opening.
  • Force stop the app then clear cache.
  • Restart the phone.

Destructive measures

  • Cleared storage and cache, app continued to crash.
  • Cleared storage and cache then uninstalled the app, then a fresh install from Google Play.
  • Cleared storage and cache then uninstalled the app. Came here and seen a release from 3 hours ago (at the time). Downloaded and installed the latest APK.
  • Cleared storage and cache then uninstalled the latest APK release version. Downloaded and installed the previous release 2025.5.0 and everything is working properly again.

Edited to include Build Number since I don't have a Android sub-version shown.

Majority of the reports above, all are using Android 10 or near by Android versions.

Is there something which the app is requiring that our old devices don't support? Just a thought.

There's a report on the subreddit for Android 13 that looks like this bug. The notable part is that this report came with a stack trace that may be helpful.

Thank you for your report! We've added this to our internal board for review. ID: PM-23136

I'm experiencing the same bug. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled from Google Play and it still crashed. I then installed 2025.5.0 from the F-Droid repository and it works fine. I'm running Android 10 on a motorola one 5G ace.

Oddly enough this has been the most stable release for me in a long time (Pixel 8 Pro, Android 15, GrapheneOS 2025062700). I have yet to be logged out which is a long running issue https://github.com/bitwarden/android/issues/4081. The "Master Password Reprompt" functionality is actually working as well. Latest self-host release 2025.6.2.
