Steps To Reproduce

My server is not accessible from the outsider at the moment because my home internet connection is broken. I'm on mobile data on my phone.

  1. Open App from app drawer/home screen
  2. Authenticate using fingerprint or password

Expected Result

The vault should unlock and I should be able to search it.

Actual Result

The app loads for a second and then just closes or crashes.

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Android 16, One UI 8
  • Mobile Data (no connection to server)

Thanks! Might be, might also be a different issue. They haven't confirmed whether it works or not if the phone is offline.

It is important to note that Vaultwarden is not associated with Bitwarden. Vaultwarden is a re-writing of the Bitwarden server code in Rust (n.b. Vaultwarden is NOT a fork of Bitwarden), that is not contributed to nor supported by the Bitwarden team or organization. The security audits granted to Bitwarden do not apply to Vaultwarden, and the Bitwarden support team is not able to respond to questions regarding Vaultwarden. The issue is with the Android app though, not with vaultwarden. I don't think it has anything to do with vaultwarden since the problem occurs when my server is offline and the app cannot establish a connection, while still being connected to the internet.

Just FYI: Vaultwarden themselves request any issues with ANY client app should be reported only to them when using their server:
