The persistent autofill notification will not appear and the two scanning options don't seem to work now either. I've tried toggling them all on and off with no luck, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Did you enable the accessibility service?

I can confirm this. Accessibility service is enabled, yet autofill doesn't work on my BlackBerry Key2 running Android 8.1

Is there any way to debug this or something so that I can help to conquer this issue?

We shouldn't have to run the accessibility service on <8.0; I'm on Pie (released yesterday) on a Pixel 2 and while Bitwarden works for apps it never and has never activated in Chrome, Brave, or Kiwi browsers. Is this something Google is working on (still, after announcing it years ago) or something Bitwarden has integrated with but isn't working on Android yet?
Edit: I see this https://github.com/bitwarden/mobile/issues/320

Same here. I am running LineageOS, Android 8.1.0 on my Nexus 5X.

Edit: #66 was my problem

It was working then suddenly stopped. I've made no charges to settings and all things that should be enabled are

I've been doing some testing with the Brave browser on a Pixel 2 using Android Pie and autofill seems to work the first time the browser is opened from a cold start (ie. swipe it away from recents, then open it again) - you get the autofill prompt on the page.

If I then hit the home button to minimise the browser, then go and open it straight back up, the autofill prompt no longer shows. I have to then kill the browser by swiping it away in recents then open it again to get it to work.

I am not using the Accessibility service, just the Auto-fill service. I am running the beta version of Bitwarden from the Playstore.

@rob151515 It may be a browser or issue in general with how this new autofill service works. Could you try another browser such as Chrome to see if the same issue occurs?

@kspearrin Chrome seems to work fine - if I minimise it and open it back up I get the prompt again. I also tested DuckDuckGo browser and that seems to work fine as well...

Sounds like a problem with Brave then. Try reporting it to them.

I can't seem to get Bitwarden to autofill on any browser, even Chrome, despite both the Autofill service and the Accessibility service being enabled. I'm on Android 9.

@regrettably Android 9 support is in the beta. Try that.
