Steps To Reproduce

Connect the Android app to a self hosted instance. I don't expose my instance to the internet so when I leave my house and perform the following steps below, my app just spins and tries to sync. But the sync will never be successful. And the app becomes hung, because I can't stop the sync and/or it doesn't timeout.

  1. Open app on Android and go to Settings
  2. Click on Other
  3. Click on Sync button

Again this is a specific use case. And I think a timeout and or cancel button when the app is syncing would be sufficient.

Expected Result

I would expect the app to either timeout and give me an error that it can't reach the server (which is expected, since I'm not at home and the server is not reachable from the internet). Or I can click a cancel sync button.

Actual Result

App is not usable. I need to force close the app and then I can use it again without issue.

I think I had a similar issue. But it wouldn't connect whatsoever after logging in.

I fixed it, I forgot to update my self-hosted instance.
