Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/bitwarden/android/issues/6210

Steps To Reproduce

When using the Bitwarden Android app with Microsoft Edge browser, the autofill functionality incorrectly matches login items against the Edge app package name (com.microsoft.emmx) instead of the actual website URI.
Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge on Android
  2. Navigate to any website with a login form (e.g., https://example.com)
  3. Tap on the username or password field
  4. Open Bitwarden autofill overlay

Expected Result

Bitwarden should display login items that match the website's URI (e.g., example.com) and allow autofill based on the website domain.

Actual Result

Bitwarden shows login items that have the URI scope set to androidapp://com.microsoft.emmx instead of matching against the website's actual domain. This requires manually searching for the correct login item or creating duplicate entries with the Edge package name as the URI.

Duplicate of https://github.com/bitwarden/android/issues/6107

Current solution: activate the compatibility mode (Settings --> Autofill).

But that compatibility mode will be removed again and there will be an "automatic solution".

More info on that e.g. in this thread on the Community Forum: https://community.bitwarden.com/t/important-android-autofill-updates/87321/
