Bitwarden Beta

  • I'm using the new native Bitwarden Beta app and I'm aware that legacy .NET app bugs should be reported in bitwarden/mobile

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Install Kraken (the Exchange app) from Play Store
  2. Login to an account that is bound to Passkey (signed up using Desktop Chrome Bitwarden extension)

Expected Result

Bitwarden is provided as an option for Passkey

Actual Result

Bitwarden is not provided as an option; instead it claims there are no passkeys for this device

Screenshots or Videos

No response

Additional Context

No response

Build Version

2024.9.0

Environment Details

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (SM-S928U1)

Issue Tracking Info

  • I understand that work is tracked outside of Github. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.

Hi there,

I reproduced this, though my understanding is that this is a restriction of their passkey implementation. I note on the two-factor authentication prompt it states "Use your hardware security key or device passkey to continue signing in" which indicates that a passkey stored in a password manager may not meet their security criteria.
