Steps To Reproduce

  1. Most languages change things when it's a noun or a verb, unlike English
  2. Autofill is used in the settings
  3. Autofill is also used when clicking on a login item to autofill and it asks whether you want to also save the current URI, etc.

Expected Result

Two strings, one for the noun and one for the verb. One for the menu, one for the button.

Actual Result

There's a single one that causes a collision

As a frequent visitor of Crowdin, I can also confirm that. - And if there were separate strings, the context info should make clear if its meant as a verb or noun then.

Thank you for your report! We use Crowdin(https://crowdin.com/profile/kspearrin) to manage our translations, and these are commonly done by our amazing translation community!

Please take a look at the localization section of our contributing documentation for further information.

https://contributing.bitwarden.com/contributing/#localization-l10n

New translations can be added, or existing ones can be up-/down-voted.

I saw your previous comment and realized that I did not include that you can add requests in Crowdin for different strings that are being translated. This would be the best place to bring this forward.

This issue will now be closed.

Thanks!

Hm, I would like to disagree here... Crowdin has some serious problems. - Well, of course you can write comments, questions or report "mistakes" to source strings. But those can remain unanswered for several years (!). Personally I think, there should be a solution for this (on Crowdin) - or you should allow "feedback" per such GitHub issues and carry it to Crowdin.

We as users can't solve this on Crowdin ourselves, as usually no one answers there.

(First hand experience, as I also translate sometimes into my mother tongue there.)

PS: To clarify my comment: of course, the "regular translation business" does function on GitHub Crowdin. But I took @lucasmz-dev's issue (and similar issues) as a a kind of "meta activity" on GitHub Crowdin - changing source strings etc. And I meant those kind of changes where we are helpless and "abandoned" as "just users" on GitHub Crowdin...

@djsmith85 Could you re-evaluate this issue here as well? (similarly to https://github.com/bitwarden/clients/issues/17597#issuecomment-3570215739)

We've separated the Autofill term into noun and verb strings to they can be properly translated in other languages here.

These new strings should be available in Crowdin for translation in the next week or so.

Ha, I literally just was about to thank @djsmith85 for re-opening this issue... So, thank you both @djsmith85 and @david-livefront for working on it! And thanks for @lucasmz-dev! I think it's indeed relevant for many languages (including my own).

One issue right now is that the string is marked as a duplicate/shared of the older one in Crowdin. I managed to fix it for pt-BR, but it seems that's not possible for anyone who doesn't have permissions, and needs to be looked for specifically.

I wonder if iOS has the same issue though... It doesn't have both strings
