Steps To Reproduce

  1. Make an new (non bw) account on a PC and save it in BW
  2. download that accounts app on your phone
  3. attempt to sign into your new account on the phone app using the autofill feature

Expected Result

The proper account is found and auto-filled.

Actual Result

Nothing is found, because the bitwarden app needs to be manually synced before anything shows up.

There is no way to sync on the autofill find credentials app page.

Screenshots or Videos

No response

Additional Context

This is incredibly irritating as it breaks the flow of using the app, which is otherwise quite easy to use.

I have to exit out of the app im trying to sign into, go to BW, manually sync, then go back into the app.

Operating System

Android, iOS

Operating System Version

No response

Device

iphone se gen 2

Build Version

2.15.0 1225

Beta

  • Using a pre-release version of the application.

Still an issue year later. Tested on Android 12, app version 2022.11.0.

Hello everyone and thank you for your input,

@kamild1996, are you still able to reproduce this? In my testing on Android 12 with Bitwarden 2023.7.0, changes from the Web Vault are synced almost immediately to the Android client; I do not need to open the main Android client to cause it to sync or to manually perform a sync, because the new vault item is shown in the list of matching vault items when I attempt to perform Auto-Fill at the relevant webpage in Chrome. To be clear, I am opening my Bitwarden vault from the Inline AutoFill prompt (https://bitwarden.com/help/auto-fill-android/#inline-autofill) by pressing on the Bitwarden (logo) button.

@Fealthas, I've raised this internally. I've tested this on iOS 16.6 with Bitwarden 2023.7.0 and I've been able to reproduce this behaviour; I'll include another set of reproduction steps below for clarity.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Install Bitwarden on an iOS device.
  2. Log into your Bitwarden account via that iOS client.
  3. Go back to your phone's Home screen.
  4. Log into your Bitwarden account via the Web Vault on your computer.
  5. Create a new vault item for GitHub via the Web Vault and save it into your vault.
  6. Open Safari on your phone and navigate to GitHub's Login webpage and attempt to perform Auto-Fill.

Expected Result:
To see the newly added vault item for that URL.

Actual Result:
That new vault item does not appear in the list.

Additional Context:
If you open the main Bitwarden client on iOS and manually sync it (https://bitwarden.com/help/vault-sync/), you'd then see that new vault item when you go back to Safari and attempt to perform Auto-Fill anew.

I thank you both in advance for your understanding and patience,

@SergeantConfused I can confirm this is still happening to me. Android 13, Bitwarden 2023.7.0 (self-hosted Bitwarden instance, if that matters). Here's how I reproduced it just now on my end:

  • On PC through a browser extension, add credentials to a new website. The credentials are saved in the vault and I am able to use them immediately through the PC browser (Microsoft Edge).
  • On my phone, I open the same website (also on Microsoft Edge), tap the password field to make my keyboard (Swiftkey) show up, then I choose "Unlock vault" from the inline autofill.
  • After unlocking the vault, I'm shown a message that no credentials are found. Even if I wait several minutes, the new credentials never show up on the phone. To make them show up, I have to open the Bitwarden app and pull down the list to make it sync.

I would also really like this to finally work. It seems someone has already made a PR, but after 5 months it's still not included.
